Situated on the southern tip of the beautiful Cotswold Hills, just North of Bristol is the award winning Cotswold Spring Brewing Co. and it's home of brewing. The shop is open most days for bottles and draught beers, but give them a ring first to make sure.
The brewery is at the back of Leyhill prison and has a large car park. We were happy to drink a couple of their beers – Codger, A dry, crisp, chestnut, perfectly balanced beer with a subtle hoppy finish, and Old Sodbury Mild, Complex 7 grain mild. Initially dry with a bitter sweetness. Chocolatey notes and a long finish. Old Sodbury Mild is the Supreme Champion at the SIBA 2011 National Beer Competition. OSM is one of my all-time favourite beers – not to be missed. The prices were extremely reasonable – they are an example to all brewers!

Driftwood Spars Brewery was established in 2000 and is situated in the stunning Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes, Cornwall. The brewery is part of the Driftwood Spars pub and B&B and probably has the best sea views any brewery has. We are a multi award winning micro brewery and are proud to have achieved the Champion Winter Beer of Great Britain 2012, awarded by CAMRA for Alfie’s Revenge.
We really love these guys – they have a great brewery shop, run by Tim and the pub over the road has to be the best within 50 miles of Newquay. Great beer, roaring fire, great bar staff – what can I say. Visit Now!

The Yeovil Ales brewery was founded in 2005 by father and son, Dave and Rob Sherwood. Our range of handcrafted beers now stands at seven permanent real ales and a growing number of occasional and seasonal brews.
The brewery is situated on the Lufton Trading estate in Yeovil, its sign posted from the main road. When we visited they had about 8 barrels on tap and ready to drink. My favourite is their Stout Hearted which has won numerous awards and is a truly stunning stout.
We were lucky to meet head brewer Dr Declan Teare who was happy to chat and show us around and sell us some of the excellent beer at a great price! I will definitely be visiting again the next time I am in Yeovil.

It all began in 1860 in the Cotswold village of Wickwar, surrounded by the rolling Wessex countryside. The purity of the locally sourced Cotswold water was impossible to resist, perfect for brewing traditional ale that is both satisfying and easy to drink.
